Weebly alternatives for sites in the affected countries
Last checked: 2026-10-09
Weebly isn't closing everywhere. Its notice says: "We have made the difficult decision to wind down Weebly services in 67 countries by 2026-09-20 due to changes in regulation and to simplify our global operations." (Weebly: Upcoming Changes to Weebly's Global Operations)
If you're in one of them, here's where you can go next.
The dates, in Weebly's words
- "you will no longer be able to publish any new pages starting 2026-06-29"
- "Your current Weebly site will remain active for 90-days, and then will be unpublished on 2026-09-27."
- "You will still have access to your Weebly account until 2026-12-26 to enable you to move your site, domains, and data to another service. After this date, you will no longer have login access to your Weebly account."
So if you're affected, your site is already offline. What you have left until 2026-12-26 is access to your account and your files.
The 67 countries Weebly lists
From the section "Which countries will Weebly no longer be available in?":
Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, South Korea, Iceland, Barbados, Colombia, Chile, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Costa Rica, Vietnam, Serbia, Egypt, Ecuador, Peru, Cambodia, Jordan, Kenya, Bahamas, Uruguay, Oman, Morocco, Tanzania, Pakistan, Nigeria, Mauritius, Bahrain, Aruba, Zambia, Bangladesh, Georgia, Laos, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, French Polynesia, Azerbaijan, New Caledonia, Zimbabwe, Armenia, Paraguay, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Montenegro, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Sierra Leone, Russia, Belarus, Algeria, Andorra, Benin, Suriname, Palau, Gabon, Ghana, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Ethiopia, Tajikistan, Uganda, Guinea, and Congo.
If your country isn't on that list, Weebly's notice doesn't apply to you.
What about Square Online?
Weebly's notice doesn't mention Square Online at all.
Square's developer docs say: "Payment processing with Square is available in the following regions": Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, Japan, Spain, United Kingdom and United States (Square: International Development). None of those are on Weebly's list. A Square Community moderator wrote in February 2026 that "Square Online can only be created in select supported countries" (Square Community).
We couldn't find an official Square Online country list. Ask Square support before you plan around it.

Static hosts: free, and they work from your archive
Our free tool turns Weebly's site archive ZIP into a host-ready static site. Your export stays in your browser. To keep your site's look, your browser downloads its public styles and fonts straight from Weebly's servers. Nothing is sent to us.
Weebly says "Blog and store pages aren't included in the export" (Weebly: Back Up Your Site). A static host suits brochure, portfolio, club and information sites best.
- Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare's product page says "All plans come with unlimited sites, seats, requests, and bandwidth." Its Free plan limits page lists 20,000 files per site, 25 MiB per file and 100 projects per account (Pages, Limits). A bare domain needs Cloudflare's nameservers; a subdomain can use a CNAME (Custom domains).
- Netlify. The Free plan is $0, with "Add Custom domains with SSL" and a "300 credit limit / month". Netlify says the free plan has "hard monthly limits that cannot be exceeded or incur any costs" (Netlify pricing). Log in before using Netlify Drop. Without an account, the URL "is protected with a temporary password until you claim it" (Netlify Drop).
- GitHub Pages. It's free in public repositories on GitHub Free, with a 1 GB site limit and a soft limit of 100 GB of bandwidth a month. It isn't allowed for "your online business, e-commerce site" (GitHub Pages limits, What is GitHub Pages?).
These pricing pages don't name country restrictions, but check sign-up and billing for your country.
Builders: better if you edit often, blog or sell
A builder is often the better choice if you post often, blog or sell, because those parts don't come through in the archive. You'll rebuild rather than upload.
- Carrd: "Simple, free, fully responsive one-page sites". Pro Lite starts at $9/year. Custom domains and forms come with Pro Standard, from $19/year (Carrd, Carrd Pro).
- Wix: "Creating your own website is free". You need a Premium plan to connect your own domain. Wix says "Prices and currency vary by location" (Wix plans).
- Squarespace: there's no free plan, but you get a 14-day trial. Basic is $19/month billed annually or $25 monthly (Squarespace pricing).
- WordPress.com: the free plan has no custom domain. Personal is $4/month billed annually. The Commerce plan lists "Sell in 60+ countries" (WordPress.com pricing).
- Framer: Free is $0 with a Framer domain. Basic is $10/month on yearly billing, with a custom domain (Framer pricing).
If you sell online: check payments first
- Squarespace says Squarespace Payments "is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain." None of those are on Weebly's list. Its store also says it accepts payments "with Stripe or PayPal" (Squarespace pricing).
- Stripe's country page lists Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. It marks Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria as "Extended network". We didn't find the other affected countries on it (Stripe global).
Check your builder's and your payment provider's pages for your country before you rebuild a store.
FAQ
Is Weebly closing in every country?
No. Weebly says it is winding down Weebly services in 67 countries, and it lists them on its notice. The list doesn't include the United States or the United Kingdom.
When do I lose access to my Weebly account?
Weebly says you will still have access to your account until 2026-12-26 to move your site, domains and data. After that date, you will no longer have login access.
Can I move to Square Online instead?
Weebly's notice doesn't mention it. Square's developer docs list payment processing in eight countries, none of them on Weebly's list. We found no official Square Online country list, so ask Square first.
What is the cheapest way to keep my site online?
Turn your site archive into a static site and put it on Cloudflare Pages, Netlify or GitHub Pages. Blog and store pages aren't in the archive.
Which option is best for an online store?
A builder with commerce, not a static host. Check that a payment provider works in your country first. GitHub Pages doesn't allow sites mainly for commercial transactions.
Next step: Move your Weebly site, or read the export guide.
